North Las Vegas is one of the fastest-growing cities in Nevada and a meaningfully more affordable daycare market than Las Vegas proper or Henderson. Tuition sits 10 to 20 percent below comparable Strip-corridor and Henderson rates, and the supply has expanded with master-planned-community growth in Aliante, Eldorado, and Tule Springs. North Las Vegas is also one of the easier metros in the country to find shift-friendly daycare. The local hospitality, airport, and Nellis Air Force Base workforces depend on early-morning, late-night, and weekend coverage, and several licensed providers run 24/7 or extended-hour models. Family child care across the city offers the most affordable licensed option, especially in the Cheyenne corridor and downtown.
Nevada Ready! Pre-K and CCSD
Nevada Ready! Pre-K is the state's targeted preschool program, funded by the Nevada Department of Education and delivered locally by Clark County School District in partnership with community-based daycares. Eligible four-year-olds (and many three-year-olds) attend a free school-day preschool session at a participating site, and many partner daycares offer wrap-around care before and after that session at a reduced rate. Nevada licensing and ratios
Nevada's Division of Public & Behavioral Health licenses every legal daycare in the state. Center ratios sit at 1:4 for infants under 12 months, 1:6 for ages 1 to 2, 1:10 for ages 2 to 3, 1:13 for ages 3 to 4, and 1:14 for ages 4 to 5. Shift-friendly and 24/7 care
North Las Vegas has one of the highest concentrations of extended-hour and 24/7 licensed daycares in the country, reflecting the metro's hospitality and air-base workforces. A handful of providers in Aliante and along the Cheyenne corridor maintain hours of 5:00 a.m. to midnight, and a smaller number offer overnight coverage for Strip-corridor workers. Financial help
Working families up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level may qualify for Nevada's child care subsidy, administered for North Las Vegas through the Clark County Department of Social Service. Nevada Ready! Pre-K offers free preschool at qualifying sites. Military families at Nellis AFB can apply for Department of Defense Child Care Fee Assistance.
