1. Overview
DaycareSquare ("we", "us") is operated by Redress Compliance, Inc. These terms govern your use of daycaresquare.com and any related services. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Using the site
You may use DaycareSquare to research daycares, read editorial content, submit inquiries to providers, sign up for newsletters and downloads, and (if you are a provider) manage a directory listing. You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
- Scrape, copy, or republish content at scale without our written permission.
- Submit false or misleading information in any form.
- Submit reviews for a daycare you have no real connection to.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the ranking algorithm to manipulate placement.
- Interfere with the operation of the site, including denial-of-service attempts, automated bot traffic, or vulnerability exploitation.
- Impersonate another person, business, or our staff.
3. Accounts
Some features (writing parent reviews, claiming a provider listing) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@daycaresquare.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
4. Provider listings
If you are a daycare operator with a listing on DaycareSquare, the following terms apply in addition to the rest of this document.
4.1 Eligibility
Free baseline profiles are available to licensed daycare providers in the United States and to license-exempt programs that operate legally in their state. We may decline or remove a listing that is unlicensed where licensing is required, has a serious open licensing violation, or has been credibly reported for child safety concerns.
4.2 Accuracy
You agree to keep your listing information accurate and to notify us within 30 days of any material change to your address, capacity, age range, license status, or accreditation. We reserve the right to verify listed information against state records and to correct or hide a listing whose data we cannot verify.
4.3 Premium tiers
Premium tiers (Starter, Pro, Premium Plus) are billed monthly in advance to the payment method on file. There is no contract term; cancel any time and your profile reverts to the Free tier at the end of the current billing month. Pricing is published at /for-providers/premium-listings/ and may be changed with 30 days' notice.
4.4 No pay-to-rank
Premium tiers do not change the editorial ranking. Premium adds clearly labeled visibility ("Featured" cards, "Top-3" placement banners, editorial reviews) that is visually distinct from the editorial list. See our editorial standards.
5. Payments and refunds
All payments are processed in U.S. dollars. Premium tier subscriptions renew automatically each month. Refunds for accidental double-charges or service issues are handled on request via billing@daycaresquare.com. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months on downgrade, but downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing month at no additional cost.
6. Content and reviews
When you submit a review, comment, or any other content to DaycareSquare, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to display, distribute, edit for length and clarity, and translate that content on the site and in related editorial pieces. You retain ownership of your content.
We may remove content that violates our policies, including personally identifying information about staff or children, hate speech, factual claims that cannot be substantiated, attempts to extort an operator, and content posted by parties with no real connection to the program. The removal process is described in our editorial standards.
7. Intellectual property
The DaycareSquare name, the cream-paper-and-berry visual system, all editorial articles, all reviews and ratings calculations, and all software powering the site are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and trade dress law. You may share excerpts with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial portions of editorial content without our written permission.
Provider photos and provider-supplied descriptions remain the property of the provider, licensed to us for display on the site.
8. Disclaimers
DaycareSquare is an editorial directory. We are not a daycare. We do not own, operate, or supervise any daycare program listed on the site. We do not warrant the safety, suitability, or licensing standing of any program for any particular family or child. You are responsible for your own due diligence before enrolling, including visiting in person, verifying licensing, checking references, and asking the questions in our tour-questions guide.
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limit of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, neither DaycareSquare nor Redress Compliance, Inc. is liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Disputes and arbitration
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation will be resolved through binding individual arbitration in San Francisco, California, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You and we each waive any right to bring a class action or to have a jury trial, except where prohibited by law.
Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations, breach of confidentiality, or harm to either party's reputation, without first proceeding to arbitration.
11. Termination
You can stop using the site at any time. We can suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, fraud, abuse of the review system, harm to other users, or activity that creates legal risk for us. We will provide notice and an opportunity to cure where possible, except in cases of fraud, abuse, or safety risk.
12. Miscellaneous
Entire agreement. These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site.
Changes. We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users and posted on this page with at least 14 days' notice before taking effect.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
Assignment. You may not assign these terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
