Every family enrolling at your center is worth $28,800 to $90,000 in lifetime tuition. A $15 lead that converts at 1 in 8 is the best marketing math in childcare. Here is how the DaycareSquare lead-generation engine works.
Lead generation on DaycareSquare is not a marketplace. There is no bidding, no race-to-the-bottom auction. Parents fill in a short inquiry form on your city page, your daycare profile, or a relevant editorial article. We screen for fit, then send the lead to the matching daycare.
A parent in your city searches for daycare and lands on our editorial city guide, our cost calculator, or a daycare profile on DaycareSquare. Roughly 70 percent of our traffic is mobile and 80 percent is high-intent — actively looking within 60 days.
The parent fills out a short form: ZIP, child's age, target start date, schedule (full-time, part-time, drop-in). We filter to daycares within commute range, with availability for that age room, and matching the parent's schedule.
The lead arrives by email within minutes. Premium-listing daycares also get phone number and budget context. You respond on your own schedule; we do not penalize response time, but parents do.
Per-lead pricing only. No subscription, no marketplace bidding, no pay-to-rank. The price is the price.
From basic listings. Single-zip-code match.
From premium listings. Higher conversion.
The economics of daycare make per-lead pricing wildly profitable. Here is the math, in four parts.
Average daycare tuition ranges from $1,200 to $2,400 per month. A typical family stays 2 to 3 years per child, and 60 percent enroll a second child. Total lifetime value per family enrolled: $28,800 on the low end, $90,000 on the high end. That math holds in every state in our database, per BLS and US DOL National Database of Childcare Prices.
Industry-typical conversion from tour to enrollment for licensed daycares is 12 to 15 percent. At $25 per lead and 1 in 8 conversion, the customer-acquisition cost is roughly $200 per enrolled family. Against a $30,000 lifetime value, that is a 150-to-1 return on marketing spend.
Most lead-gen services run reverse auctions where daycares bid against each other on the same parent. We do not. Parents see editorial picks; daycares pay a flat per-lead rate. We deliberately limit non-premium leads to a maximum of 3 daycares per inquiry to keep response rates high.
Premium listings get enhanced features (more photos, longer descriptions, video, lead priority). They do not get ranking advantage. Editorial picks are unpaid. That keeps parent trust high, which keeps lead quality high. Per our how-we-make-money page.
